Exclusive Contemporary Villa with Private Wellness Area in Porza
Exclusive Contemporary Villa with Private Wellness Area in Porza
Set on the hillside in Porza, this contemporary residence is conceived as a layered composition of architecture, landscape and private retreat. Rather than presenting itself as a single volume imposed upon the site, the house unfolds through a series of terraced levels that follow the natural slope, creating a measured dialogue between built form and topography. This approach gives the project both its identity and its atmosphere: a residence defined not by spectacle alone, but by the controlled way in which space, material and setting are brought into relation.
The architecture is at once disciplined and warm. Its horizontal lines, broad overhangs and carefully stepped arrangement allow the house to sit securely within the terrain, while generous glazing opens the interiors towards garden, light and distant views. The exterior material palette plays a central role in this balance. Travertine, wood and metal recur throughout the project, establishing a language that feels tactile, refined and quietly robust. The moodboards and renderings make clear that this is a house designed through material consistency, where smooth and textured stone surfaces are softened by timber and sharpened by darker metal details.
Inside, the residence is organised with notable clarity. The ground floor is devoted to the principal living spaces — entrance, kitchen, pantry, guest bathroom, living room, dining room and bar — creating a social level that is open, elegant and highly functional. Above, the first floor becomes a more private domain, centred around the master suite with its lounge, dressing area and bathroom. Below, the semibasement expands the house into a more intimate and experiential register, incorporating family living, gym, spa and relaxation areas, indoor and outdoor pools, and a sequence of guest bedrooms with supporting spaces. This layered distribution gives the project an unusual completeness, allowing it to function at once as family residence, retreat and place of hospitality.
What distinguishes the project most is the way these programmes are unified by atmosphere. The principal interiors are conceived with calm continuity, while the wellness spaces introduce a more enclosed and restorative dimension. The house therefore moves naturally between openness and shelter, between panoramic living and inward quiet. Even its more practical elements — garage, service rooms, storage and technical spaces — are absorbed into an overall architectural order rather than treated as secondary.
The result is a residence of strong contemporary character, yet one that avoids abstraction. Rooted in stone, light and terrain, it offers a carefully balanced interpretation of luxury: private, material, spacious and deeply attuned to the hillside on which it stands.
